1.First of all, Gee tells about the importance of oral language which is the vocabulary and skills with complex language and correlated to further study of literacy. Then, Gee takes a conversation between a mother and child as example to illustrate both specialist language and of getting ready for later complex specialist language demands early in life. This example clearly describe how a child learn the literacy from his/her daily experiences. And finally, Gee gives a further interpretation of specialist language in popular culture. He uses Yu-Gi-Oh card to be example and mentions the rules of this card. In order to play this game, children read, understand, communicate and debate about the complex and specialized information. The sorts of lucidly functional language practices and informal specialist language lessons that exist around Yu-Gi-Oh has definitely increase the children's literacy.
2. Personally speaking, I have been reading many kinds of books from my childhood and typically I would read fictions around the world. And I also have played Yu-Gi-Oh card and other games like this for a long time.
The forms of communication you feel yourself to be literate in:
1.Fictions around the world.
2. Yu-Gi-Oh card and other games.
3. Movies.
4. Animation and manga.
5. Online newspaper.
