My big question is "Does moral action depend on reasoning?" I plan on arguing that it does to a certain extent. I believe that our decisions are made through our prior experiences, and reasoning is changed due to that. Rebecca Goldstein's article in templeton helps my arguement. She states that reason extends to universality in the world as we extend sympathy to every human being. I believe I can form a strong argument around this idea, and back it with my own experiences. Robert George also backs the idea that human nature is to act based on our reasoning. He brings utilitarianism into the conversation to describe how we reason in different situations. I believe with these ideas I can form a strong argument that moral actions do depend on reasoning.
