Thesis: What are the effects of the worse food safety problem happened in China.

I. It directly affects health condition.

A. It can cause many diseases happen

B. It can make people become suspect about the food they eat
Quotes: “In humans, the ingestion of melamine may lead to reproductive damage and bladder or kidney stones. As with animals, the danger is greatest among the very young, whose organs have yet to form fully and whose nutrition is more restricted. In China in 2008, the melamine contamination of milk powder led to the deaths of six infants and the hospitalization of 52,000. A further 250,000 children were estimated to have suffered mild kidney and urinary problems. The immediate cost to the health system was estimated at 58 million Euro.” (The China melamine milk scandal and its implications for food safety regulation----By Xiaofang Pei)

II. It affects international trade negatively.v5

A. The food produced by China had food pollution.
Quotes: “The contamination of Chinese milk by melamine represented a case of fraud. Melamine was added to mask a dilution in protein.” (The China melamine milk scandal and its implications for food safety regulation----By Xiaofang Pei)

B. The export items which are traded are concerned and suspected.
Quotes: “reports of contaminated food imported from China have aroused concerns about food safety and public health in the United States and worldwide. The United States and China have recently moved to tighten the control of food inspection and enforcement of food laws.” (Food hygiene and global health----By Liping Bu, PhD, and Elizabeth Fee, PhD)
Quotes: “In recent years, there have been frequent food safety incidents involving aquatic products in China. In some cases these incidents have seriously impeded exports. In 2002, for example, an import ban was imposed on aquatic products from China by the EU primarily due to the presence of residues from veterinary medicines, pesticides and heavy metals that exceeded EU standards…” (A review of Chinese food safety strategies implemented after several food safety incidents involving export of Chinese aquatic products, British Food Journal, by Kerr William)

III. It let us know that we should improve law enforcement.

A. We need to use law enforcements because they are always the best way to regulate something.
Quotes: “Most recently, the “killer baby milk powder” incident once again frustrated the public's confidence in China's food safety (China Daily, 2008). It has been perceived that a lack of laws and regulations in China may be the main reason leading to the nearly out-of-control problems of food safety in the country (China Daily, 2005 and Asian Development Bank, 2007). (Law enforcement is key to China's food safety, by Hong-Gang, Ni)

B. We should establish a public supervision system in assistance to the law.

This research question is also the question I want to explore on. Grown up in such a big environment, we have got used to these food cooked in different bad places. But we should never forget these potential effects they have bought to our health. Fortunately, the food safety has been greatly improved recently. I hope you can find out these specific effects that these unsafe foods have damaged to our body and tell other people to pay more attention on these effects.
