1. Summarize Gee's definition of literacy. Use his terminology to illustrate his definition.

According to Gee, literacy is not only the ability to read and write, but also how it is used in situations because one word can contain a lot of meaning. Each of the meaning will have totally different particular meanings from each other. He uses the word "discourse" as an example in this article. Either singular or plural type, "discourses" or "discourse" shows many different meanings, which the user needs to choose the right one based on the situation and what he/she wants to say/write.
2. Did this change your understanding of literacy? If so, how? And, how might this affect your understanding of your own literacy story?
It does not really change my understanding about the meaning of " literacy". I am feeling like I just figure out something to work on my paper.
