I was looking for the definition of literacy. Through my search I came across a few websites that described the meaning.

My first website explained that literacy had to do with more than just reading. It also has to do with the way in which someone understands and processes the information that they read. It has to do with the way a person uses the information which they come across while reading.

The second website I came across explained literacy in other levels. It gave a definition and statistics. This website showed me that the definition of literacy varies from different sources so much because it is an ever changing thing, and as our society develops so does the definition.

After reading from these two sources I have come to the conclusion that both are correct. Literacy used to be just reading about writing. Now it has to do with the interpretation of reading. How would someone act before they read the literacy and after. This changes because the books and materials we have available are always So, S. Therefore, we have to develop the way we think when we come across new pieces of literature.
